How To Use RSS Feed on Windows and Mac For Free?

Every day we visit many websites to get the updates of latest news, blogs and music. This is really time consuming job, you need to remember every website name and should visit the website manually. One of the options to this is bookmarking every website. But still problem comes when we have huge collection of bookmarks.
What if your website visits you every day at your desktop? Yes!! “You heard it right, this is possible” through the concept called "RSS Feed Subscription". You might have seen a small orange colored icon at top or bottom corner of a website .

The icon is symbol for RSS subscription which is updated regularly after specific period of time. Since RSS consist of standard XML format you need software to read this format which can be desktop or web based which is normally called as "RSS Reader", "Feed Reader", or "Aggregator". You can subscribe to RSS using the RSS URI.

Let’s see how to use RSS Feed on Windows:

1. The first task is to search for best RSS Reader software which will make easy to subscribe our favorite feed (I use FeedDemon software from newsgator). Here is the link to download FeedDemon feed reader software. The newsgator provides free RSS Reader software for Windows and Mac platform.

2. Once you download with software, install the software using express setting by accepting license terms. During first run it will ask for google reader synchronization, If you already have subscription with google reader then select “Yes, enable synchronization” and enter your account details otherwise select “No ,don’t enable synchronization” and press next. Select “No, don’t subscribe me to anything else now” and press next and finish. That’s it!

3. Now the next step is get our favorite websites RSS URI (I will show you RSS Feed Subscription for www.latest-techtips.com).

4. Click on RSS URI icon at left side of the website and copy the url link as shown below

5. Now go to FeedDemon software and click on File->New Subscription and paste the copied RSS URL from the website and press next. In next window it will ask for title for your feed enter Latest Tech Tip and the folder name if you want to make the group of subscription and press finish.

6. Once completed you will see the latest updates from the website at left panel of software. Like this way you can subscribe multiple website. You can manage appearance and other settings by selecting TOOLS-> OPTIONS -> FeedDemon options or by pressing F8.

Desktop alert option will show you new updates at bottom of your desktop at specific time period.

Follow the same procedure to add any website to RSS subscription and stay touch with latest torrents, wallpapers, news, comics, blogs etc etc..

You can simply  follow similar process for the RSS reader for Mac.
