How to use Google Feature: Image Swirl

Have you ever used the Google's Wonder wheel functionality? Just like Google Wonder Wheel organizes text data in logical groups and presents in a graphical wagon wheel structure "Google Swril" logically categorizes images and present it to the user.

This is part of Google Labs experiments and is getting very popular.  To give you all more insight about Google Swril. Google Image Swirl organizes image search results into groups and sub-groups, based on their visual and semantic similarity and presents them in an intuitive exploratory interface.

This means it not only organizes the images based on their text names but also the way they look. So take an example say you want to search "apple". The Google Swril will first give you all related categories to term apple like trees, logos, computers, juices etc. Just below them would be broader sub group under apple and each sub group has specific sub categories of images.

All the images are presented in the form of a Google Wonder Wheel making the search very interesting. The animated effect makes the image search very responsive and once you locate a particular search you can directly go the site where the image belongs.

This tool helps in locating very precise images in a particular search and making the image search very intuitive. Since its an experiment it has limited sets of queries enabled. Basically only those queries which are very popular are enabled it seems. Once the experiment is successful I guess they would enable any search query enables for the Google Swril.
