How to get free text editors?

There are hundreds of text editors you will find on the internet many of them are free, but how do you choose the best free text editors?



Well out of the editors I have used till today I would recommend you Editplus and Notepad++.

Editplus: If you want to find and replace things in your text file then this is the editor for you. It can virtually find beginning of line, End of line, new line,tabs, spaces and many more. I would you this editor if you want to mass update a text file.

Notepad++: This is very useful when editing XML or HTML it auto aligns the code in a very readable form which is very easy to edit.
